What do utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign mean?+
Source is where the click came from (linkedin, x, newsletter). Medium is the channel type (social, email, paid). Campaign names the initiative (launch-q4). Content distinguishes variants (post-a vs post-b).
Do UTM links hurt reach?+
No network penalises UTM parameters. Long links look messy on X, so pair the UTM link with a short link if you care about appearance.
Where do I see the results?+
In Google Analytics 4 under Acquisition → Traffic acquisition, or in Plausible, Fathom or Matomo under Sources / UTM.
